I know your card supports DX9 and SM3.0, but have you tried running it with the -dx8 switch enabled? It may be worth a try just to rule out if your card is having any problems rendering in DX9.

Just add -dx8 to the end of your Guild Wars shortcut. If that doesn't change anything, then try using the -noshaders switch instead. If nothing, then try both at the same time.

If you don't know how to add the switches, this thread will prove invaluable :-

Perhaps useless info, but a buddy of mine had to roll back his driver in order to play gw.

What in-game settings are you using, and what settings are you using on the card? Are you overclocking the card at all? Is the inside of your case dusty, and how is the airflow in you system(how many fans do you have, and where)? Im thinking this might be heat related, but it could also be some wierd driver thing, assuming theres no problems with the monitor itself.

I had to use ati tool to get my fan working properly, and presto...gw ran like a charm again. It used to shut itself off and have that "repairing data archive" hell.

Thought it might be a heat thing, Ive had some problems with it myself in the past, and am having them again, with one fan on my card having bad bearings now. But, it Christmas, so Ill likely get a new one. Glad I could be some help.

Hi, Thanks.

Im not overlocking, the temperature is fine.

I have changed the drivers to the ForceWare 93.71. Now the direct 3d 7,8,9 are working ok, but when I try to run the game, the screen just shows a black screen, the cursor change to the game cursor.

The directx the DxDiag says that my vercion of Dx is 8.1, but when i try to install Dx 9c a message say that the Dx is installed, so i cant install Dx 9c.

Locate a redistributable package of the most recent DX 9 release and install it. It sounds like your DX 9 installation is pooched.
