Default graphics issue

well, i bought guild wars just yesterday and.. well the graphics in the game don't make sense. i have a radeon 9550 which is already above the recommended specifications but the textures in the game seem blurry and disorientated. btw i have checked the graphics options im not a retard everything is set to max but still..can any1 plz explain, much thanks.

Blurry and disoriented? Do you mean they are really messed up, or just blurry and odd looking? It could be your settings for you video card, like whether you have it on "quality" vs "performance" for texture settings and mip mapping. Also, ground textures look very blurry on default anisotropic filter levels (application controlled, which is probably what your card defaulted to). Putting it up to 4x, 8x, even 16x if you can get away with it, radically improves ground textures that stretch out in front of you.

Actually it is the opposite, if you set too high a setting then the graphics board will get messed up and/or overheat and crash resulting in white blocks.

Blurriness isn't a big deal in cities, it's done that way on armors because you would kill any graphics baord loading 100s of armors.

as said above in cities and outposts the graphics are automatically turned down and there is nothing you can do about it... otherwise it may not be the graphics card but instead your moniter.

Well, not all!

To the OP, have you got the latest drivers for your graphics card installed? If possible, post a screenie of the problem.
