Default GW freezes

Ok, here's my problem: every 5 hours while I'm playing GW my comp totally freezes, no keys work and the sound freezes to, making an annoying buzzing sound, only thing to do is to put the comp off manually and rebooting. When I run Winamp whoever it is even faster, around 1 hour, same with msn and windows media player.
My comp is totally spyware and virus free, even used regcure full version to get rid of registry problems
I have a P4 dual core 3.6 Ghz, 2048 MB DDR2 RAM, 360 GB HD and Radeon 256 MB (forgot which series but it's just 9 months old)
Please help, it's really annoying when I'm trying to do DoA quests, it crashed right before I could finish the city and is mainly the reason why I never got to finish any DoA quests and I'm trying to do that since the release of DoA :'(

Another case of heat-rash. It sounds like your computer is getting to hot to run anymore. There are several things that you can do. Open the side of the case and put a fan blowing directly into your open case. This raises the airflow and should help out. If this does the trick then you will need to add fans and increase airflow into and out of your computers case (a larger case with more fans works too). You should have at least 2 intake fans and 2 exhaust fans. not counting the ones in your power supply and the cpu fan. Cutting a blowhole into the side of the case right over the video card with the fan blowing air over the heatsink of the video card can also help out a lot. But cutting the blowhole should not be done by novices. The case I have has 8 fans within it, 5 intake and 3 exhaust, making airflow no problem for it. If you can invest in a new case make sure it has the proper number of fans or heat will be an issue.

to see if its heat probs for def install speedfan and monitor the temp with that, check it after a night off (or an hour or so) so you get a start up temp, normal run temp and temp with gw, atm mine runs at 55c with gw running but thats a lil hot for mine but since i installed the new power supply i think i messed up the airflow cos of all the extra wires, if its not exceptionally hot then let us know it could be something totally unrelated as since the new update gw has been very unstable for me, i actually came on to see if anyone else was having probs...

oh yea, im very jealous u came close to beating city havent been back in since i saw u there last i dont think

I thought it could be over-heating, but I don't see why the problem rises now, considering I've been playing GW on this comp since the start, in february last year. The freeze problems start only when it gets cold in this room, it doesn't have heating so it can be quit chilly here at times So I wonder if the cold has something to do with it ?

Mine is doing the same thing since DOA went live and my pc is not over heating ay all plus its water cooled with both side panels are off. (all temps are fine)

So I know for me it's not a heat issue

Update to the latest release of DirectX. Some have found that it solves the freezing they encounter while gaming. My guess is that it's sound related conflicts that cause your error, especially since the latest GW updates, and not the often assumed heat problem.
