Vanta? as in generation-1 geforce cards?

Without knowing rest of the computer buying a new video card might not even be an option.

I am not really a computer buff... It is a Compaq Evo running Windows 2000 Professional. It has a pentium 4. Roomie says I meet all the minimum requirements on the Nightfall box... except the Vanta thingy. She runs her GW with 3D analyzer... when we tried that fix it was not an improvement. Everything was blue and pink.

Thanks again for any help you can offer

Yah compaqs arent that great for exhanging parts (especially old ones), if you are unlucky then your graphics-card is soldered down & impossible to remove/change.
You could google on the exact modell number to see if any other people have managed to change parts on it.

(Putting a new graphics card into a 3-4 year old computer is meaningless because rest of the components will be the bottleneck instead).
