Default Transfering the .dat file?

I've tried to transfer my .dat file (which is working correctly) to a few other computers so i don't have to download everything over again, but it doesn't recognize it. Instead, it just starts downloading everything and overwrites it like it's not there at all.

Any suggestions?

How are the HDD's on the other computers formatted? If they're in FAT32 then you're going run into trouble when trying to stick a file over 4GB on there.

They're NTFS, running on Windows XP.

Let the game download enough to get in (don't run -image), then close it.

Then paste in the 'old' .dat file, and run a -image switch on it, and it should work... at least it did for me.

It should work, I suspect when your copying the file it's got corrupt.

Install this program - http://www.beeblebrox.org/hashtab/ and it will allow you to easly get an md5 sum value of a file. Copy the dat over to the new machine and check the md5 sum of the copy. If there the same number, it copied 100% correctly. If the md5 sum's numbers are different... then something got changed/corrupted during the copy.
