Default Gw.dat and File System Type

Hello All,

While cleaning up my hard drive today, I noticed that the Gw.dat file is approx 3 gigs in size.

My first thought was .. wow, glad I have an NTFS file system rather than a FAT32.

Thing is ... those people with a FAT32 file system can not have a file greater than (approx) 4 Gigabyes.

Wondering what will happen to the crowd that may still be running FAT32 when the size of Gw.dat grows beyond 4 gigs ? .... or has this potential issue been addressed already by the team at Anet ?

Wouldn't know personally, and it can go in excess of 6GB now...mine used to be.

I was wondering the same thing, as my other partition is a fat32 partition (makes sharing it with my linux install a simpler process). Luckily windows and gw are installed on ntfs so I won't have a problem, but I do wonder what would happen. Anyone run in to an issue?

Simple solution is to just type this into the command prompt.

CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS

All your filesize worries will be solved.

This has been gone over before, use the search function in the future please.

There is no reason not to be using NTFS.
