Default Teamspeak questions

i was looking into a teamspeak server. so my questions are this:

1. What slot amounts are available besides the free 8-slot server?

2. How much would a 20ish-slot server cost?

3. Does it require a separate server PC to operate?

4. Does the server PC need to be on to have access to the TS?

After searching the forums on the teamspeak website i couldnt find much, so that why im posting somewhere else.

input on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Why don't you ask on a support forum for a website that actually has Teamspeak servers for sale?

e.g. http://www.gameservers.com/voice/

Well, a friend of mine has a TS server running off his old PC. We have had as many at 28 people at one time I believe. I think the only limit is how many people your connection can handle. (It used to be anyhow)

Nope, I've run it off my PC (the same one I was playing on) a few times just to chat with a friend or two. Haven't done that for a while though.

I have some friends that rent out game servers including TS ones...if only I could remember their site...heh.

chill dude, the only reason i asked that is cuz the TS our guild uses requires you to be registerd so one of the officers has to email the guy who runs it and it takes a couple days to get access to it, and thats also why im looking into a new one for my guild.

i find it rather disappointing that a simple tech question turns into *sighs* of disgust, just answer the question give em a smile and feel good that you helped someone with cutting them down.

sorry if i seem short or took anything outa context, but work is hell today, lol.

thanks again everyone for the input.

Use ventrilo there seems to be a "Noob" association with Teamspeak. The main reason for this is i can say with confidence 99% of english speaking guilds that excel are using ventrilo servers. Teamspeak is overly simple with almost no customization awful codec which creates even crappier sound quility. Hear your friends online as they should be heard with ventrilo and also if you pvp on a teamspeak server most people will think you are noob anyway. Many poeple go as far as not playing with you because you are using teamspeak server.

USE VENT here is a good deal for 25slots for 7.95 a month

Vent uses better default codecs. You can simply select higher quality codecs in teamspeak, it takes a whole 3 seconds. I happen to like TS better as it uses the lower quality default codecs as most people don't change them. As I can actually play and use TS at the same time, where I get some lag with vent. But then I am suck on dial up...probably won't matter to most.

Who said simple was bad? ^_^

And no problem kirch1jt, glad to be of assistance.

Mac Lovers....

anyways most teamspeak servers only support lamest codecs anyways... which is why it sounds like crap. Going to TS makes my ears bleed haven't used ts in years and will never use it again.
