?'s about SP2
hi, well i was wondering what exactly Windows Service Pack 2 does. i have 1 right now, and when the automatic updates downloaded tried to install it, my pc crashed and it wouldn't reboot unless i wiped my harddrive, which obviously sucked, so i was wondering if there are any disadvantages to having the first one.

Like with any major software upgrades/installations make sure you have your data backed up before diving in.
It is often a good idea to use a "clean slate" approach with Windows XP on a regular basis. Barring that use a program like CCleaner to keep Windows XP from being bogged down with crap. Quote:
