Default Changing Cards

Forgive me if this is in the wrong place, though I assume by the forum title it is.

The issue I'm having centers around my graphics card. Until yesterday I could play with next to no graphical problems, though upon entering the first area of Vabbi in Nightfall yesterday I had the game freeze on me twice before I decided to look for the problem. I found that my current graphics card wouldn't support whatever changes there were in those areas, thus I wouldn't be able to access them.

Now I've been looking around for different cards for about three hours, and found one though I'm not sure if it'll work well enough to let me into all the remaining areas in the game. I don't want to buy a new card only to have it crap out on me at any point in the game.

This is what I've found at this point within my price range. The whole descriptions are to long so I'll post the link.

I was also looking at a ATI RADEON 9000 PRO 128MB AGP Video Card that was slightly cheaper, though once again I don't know anything about graphics cards.

If neither of those will work, can someone recommend one that will? My price range is at a max of 150 dollars.

Could you possibly push it an extra $5 on top of the $150? If so, then this is a damn good card if you only have AGP capability.

Well, I don't know a lot about ATI cards, but I recently bought a 7600GT (my 7800GTX died /cry) and it runs GW perfectly, above 40-50FPS at all times. It is also right in your price range.

I got the card on newegg for 80$ (after a 60$ mail in rebate) But I take it you have an AGP motherboard?

Also a 6600 would be a good card I played GW in that when I first got the game, you won't get as good of FPS but it cheaper.

Here is a newegg link of some card near your price range. Sorry, I tried to get some links from that site, but it is horribly unfriendly.

Also, it's good to know the rest of your PC specs to make sure it would work. AKA big enough power supply, weather your CPU would be a bottleneck etc.

Anyhow...I'll shutup now, in conclusion I would recommend a 7600, it's a great card, and it's pretty cheap.

I build low to high end gaming systems in my spare time. I have used both the cards mentioned in this post and can recomend both to you. Here is the catch though. If you have an ATI video card I would recommend sticking with them for the next one you get. Less problems with the install. If you decide to go with another brand of video card you realy should make sure that you do a complete uninstall of all the drivers and related software that you have installed relating to your current video card. Doing this will prevent any problems that could crop up due to incompatable hardware/drivers.

Edit: Actually I'm thinking that I might look into this one:

I've checked all my specs and everything looks right, though I'm still not sure if this card is good even though it's above the recommended.
