Well if it happens in WoW and Halo; how can you say it's ArenaNet? It's something wrong with your connection.

So; is anyone downloading? Do you have a ton of spyware, or viruses? Is your ISP blocking ports? There's many possibilities.

i dont have any spyware or viruses, im saying somthing may be blocking arenanet like norton or spysweeper, they r all online games so norton could be blocking blizzard as well, it was working fine two days ago...im not sure if my ISP is blocking ports and i dont no how to figure that out. Nothing comes good from wireless

Well, delete Norton and Spysweeper then, or at least disable them! Norton is a bloated POS anyhow.

Try using the image switch to download 100%.
Use the trick to shrink the gw.dat size to it's normal 2.7~ gb size.
Then run defrag.

i dont want to delete them because i payed for them and i don't want viruses.
I had GW and Halo for a year on my computer with norton and sweeper running and it was fine. My computer is fine and my internet connection is very good...108Mbps.
This all started after i shut the power in the house for 5 seconds...

Lmao...108Mbps is not your internet connection. That's the max your wireless adapter can go.

Then at least disable them like Azagoth already said for testing purposes if you won't uninstall them. By the way, why'd you pay for crap?

Fair enough, but I'll just say that I don't have any anti-virus software running at all on any of my systems. The only things I use are CCleaner (daily) and Spybot, Ad-Aware and Vundofix once a week, mainly because spy/malware is so easily caught these days. I only use anti-virus software once a month when I install it, run it and uninstall it. To this day I have never had a single virus in over 25 years of computing.

yes i know that im juist saying that is how fst it goes, some go slower im just telling you the speed it is.

what i am saying is that it DID run perfectly fine with norton and spysweeper RUNNING and all fire walls up but now it doesn't. I did turn them off but nothing really happened...Are there any ports i can add to let the fire wall know to pass it to make it run faster?

Why does saying the max speed your wireless adapter can go help? You obviously thought that was your net speed...lol.

As for your question on ports, a quick Google Search or skim through the PlayNC Support area gives...

very good is ment as in the status of it, low=1-2 bar, 3=good 4=very good 5=excellent, meaning i have 4 bars, should have clarafied that and has for 108mbps meaning i have high speed internet

the point of telling you this is that i shouldn't have much lag...ty for ports though i'll go try them

I hate to break the news to you, but if you are on standard broad band and not something above, that like an oc-3 connection, there are very few services that will exceed 12 Megabits per second at this current moment in time if you are in the United States. You Wireless Lan's connectivity speed of 108 Megabits per second has very little to do with your internet service providers throughput, it will only affect your intranet speeds.

We need to know who your service provider is, what is the real actual speed they provide you, what type of connection is it ? How long have you had your router, do you run services like torrent and P2P ? What kind of machine do you have, What are its specs, What was the last thing you installed or removed, what versions of Direct x and device drivers do you have ?

There a known problems with several major brand firewall and Security suites that create hashes for applications that are allowed access to your network connections. You do not need to delete them to simply disable them for testing purposes. It is well known that Norton and Mcafee Security suites are bloated, resource hungry applications that can a do cause problem with other applications. Try disabling this software.

Try running guildwars with the --diag switch and allow it to generate a report which you can examine to see if the problem lies within your Local service providers network. check with your provider to see if they are having problems or are servicing something in your area.

Try to ping your default gateway listed in your routers status tab, see if those pings are high. Check out how your local are network responds, i.e. File sharing from the affected machine to determine if the problem is related to Wireless interference. Use applications like net Stumbler to check your area for other existing wireless systems and ensure that your router is not using a conflicting channel.

Listen: if you re-install Guild Wars AND have not performed a -image to fully update your game, you will experience lag/high ping due to background updating depending on the bandwidth/connection type.

Do your self a favor and either do a -image or always back up your GW.DAT and restore it from back up.

1. Create a shortcut for Guild Wars on your desktop.

2. Edit shortcut "target" line by adding "-image" as follows:

"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

3. Run Guild Wars using the edited shortcut. Let game fully update, this will take a while, run it before sleep or work/school etc.

4. You only need to use the -image method very rarely...after long absences, new installs etc.

Go to RUN on the start menu and type

"C:\Program Files \Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -diag

This will give you a text file with all the info you need to find where your problem is.

You can even send the file to NC support for analyse.

Default Spring Clean!

My computer didn't appreciate the power being cut off a few months ago. Changing the power supply seemed to help me at that time.
If you're having problems running resource-hogging games maybe your computer isn't feeling too good.
When faced with something like this I usually run all the tests I have available, such as Ad-Aware, HijackThis, RegScrub, defragmenting of course, CleanUp!, etc... then I'll hop over to 'PC Pitstop' and run their full tests and see if they come up with anything..
I'm sure you've tried a lot of that, and hopefully you've tried the -image thing and defragging the gw.dat file (contig..?) too; but if not, make sure you do all that then come back and maybe someone kind will help you more if you need it.
If you've just reinstalled GW check your options are to your liking aswell; reduce graphical output a little perhaps and stuff like that - can help sometimes.
As people have said, you must disable your firewall whilst you're trying to get GW (or one of the other unmentionables :P) to work, so that you can at least eliminate that as the cause of the problem.
Good luck
