Default Increasing the FPS

I don't have that bad a system. In fact, I can run GW at the second-highest setting.

My average FPS is 12 FPS. Sometimes I get 22 FPS, sometimes I get 3 FPS. How can I speed my FPS up? I've tried turning down the settings, but it doesn't make a difference. I want my average FPS to be 25 at least.

My computer stats:
Code:
Processor:
Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz, ~2.4GHz
Memory:
446MB RAM
Hard Drive:
41 GB
Video Card:
ATI RADEON 9100 IGP

Would help to have more specs on that video card especially how much video memory it has.

Edit: I've done some research and first thing, your video card is integrated graphics which means lower FPS compared to an add-in card, secondly, it's getting somewhat old which contributes on lowering FPS even more. Here's a link to some benchmarks for that card, its referenced under ATI RS300 Rev. integrated.

So, basically if you want higher FPS, buy a new video card, just make sure your PC supports it as it too seems a bit old also consider upgrading to 1GB ram that too will help a lot.

2nd EDIT: if you have the money go with Kyuuba's advice and buy a new PC.

ATI Radeon 9100 IGP? would that mean integrated graphics platform?

you might want to get an extra 512 stick of RAM

i dont know if you have a AGP slot of PCI-Express slot on your motherboard, but maybe a new graphic's card would helpful (geforce 7600GS or 7600GT)
the cpu is a little weak as well.

what kind of system since not all computer allow you to do your own upgradess. (Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway etc.)

overall, you might want to consider getting a new system but i dont know if you what kind of budget you have and whether or not you can really go and grab a new system.

Celeron = No good for gaming.
448MB = No good for gaming.
Onboard 9100 = No good for gaming.

You see where this is leading? What you could do is knock the games resolution down to the next level and add the -dx8 switch to the command line. Apart from spending some money there's no sure fire way to up your FPS, the cheapest two options would be to drop in another 512MB of RAM and a dedicated graphics card.

My parents said they might get me a new computer for Grad, but that's a few months away. I'll try the -dx8 switch though.
