Default Cant connect after update

hi

After the last update i cant connect anymore to GW. Update completed and then it just stucks at connecting to Anet.
I Checked my firewall even my router settings and everything is ok. contacted my isp and still nothing. I can play other games online with no problem.

then decided to do a clean install and it connected fine. I was even able to login and play. but all the downloading is such a effort. Then decided to do a -image of my GW shorcut. ran fine connected and downloaded pretty fast but as soon as i got to the last update again teh same thing happend and i cant connect anymore. the size of my new dat file and old one is exactly the same so i do have all the updates.
Even tried a defrag on the dat file but still nothing.

Anybody getting the same prob??
any suggestions on how to fix it would be nice.

I did contact anet tech support but as you know they always say the same thing over and over again

i did remember to take out the -image from my shortcut before i tried to connect again.

I have the old dat file in a total diffrent drive as backup.

thnx

Are you being patient with it?

Like walking away letting it do its thing while you watch reruns of Married with Children, or something?

Sometimes the update process can slow to a crawl especially if a large number of users are flooding the system.

yes the last update was very buggy, especially in Torment around razah, That area seldom could recover when it crashed... But I think they did another update for that since...

Over all However it seems all the zones need to reload everything again. And because of that every place is slow cause everyone is in the same boat.

Wierd that it still doesnt wana take my dat file and even more wierd that a fresh install with -image dat file still gave me the same prob.

If you didn't delete your old Gw.dat file and it was corrupted, the corruption problem could have stayed in it. I had a problem with jumping NPCs some time ago, tried a reinstall coupled with - image, didn't fix my problem. I trashed my old Gw.dat file, then downloaded a completely new one form scratch and it fixed it.
