Hey, i was thinking of buying Guild Wars at the weekend, but i noticed the requirements for it.. Im always on my laptop (PackardBell Easynote MV) and i was wondering would GW run smoothly on it? , I can play Oblivion on it fine i just turned down the shoadows and draw distance a little :

Model - Intel® Core Duo T5500
Cache Memory - 2MB
Motherboard - Intel 945GM
Memory - 512MB DDR2
HDD Size - 60GB
Graphics - ATI Radeon Xpress 200m
Memory - 128MB shared
Sound - Realtek ALC665

I can think of no reason why Guild Wars wouldn't run on your notebook. You may have to make similar concessions to graphic level settings as you did in Oblivion but lowering the resolution and upping the other quality level may be a way to have it both ways. But, native resolution, of course is best.

Guild Wars can run on practically anything and is very scalable in the area of graphics overhead.

Ok thanks,im glad that you told me that, But the expected requirement for graphics card is ATI 8500 series, mine is a big drop dont you think? . But as long as i can drop the shadows a touch i hope i will be fine.

Some performance tests from a couple of years back, here.

You could do worse and if money wasn't an issue you undoubtedly could do better.

But, if you tweak your system and adjust Guild Wars graphic level settings you shouldn't have any other real obstacles to satisfying game play.

One of Guild Wars big strengths is that it looks pretty damn good even when on the lowest quality settings.

My guess is that you won't have to turn everything all the way down in order to keep decent FPS.

You have an XPress which i am pretty sure is newer then the 8500's. Although the game will not run very smooth, your video card is integrated and shares its memory with your RAM, which sets you lower then the recommended system requirements. It will be able to run the game though, just lower settings.
