That really makes absolutely no sense why they would implement it this way.

Gah going to work so hopefully we'll have some official news on this later.

This exact same thing happened the last time the boardwalk was open, if anyone remembers. It was written off by Gaile that it was some kind of data corruption when "saving" character information or some junk. Kinda makes ya wonder, huh?

Don't know how that Boardwalk game works, but if they hate afkers so much, why don't they just make something you can't do by afking...?

...So how they thought about maxing out the title? Chatting for 180 hours?

I can't believe it would be an afk rollback. It's probably a cover story to mask what really happened.

So must one rezone every hour or what?
seems a bit counter productive to what they are actually encouraging people to do...

Well, it isnt just lucky/unlucky titles that are rolled back, its EVERYTHING that you did since you zoned to that area.

The items i sold yesterday are back in my inventory, so thats how i know

I didn't play the boardwalk game. I farmed outside Shing Jea, returned, went to the merchant, went to Xunalai. Answered door to postman, returned and found that I had been logged out and rolled back a couple of minutes (items sold to merchant were back in my inventory).

If it's to prevent AFK'ing, it's major overkill.

If this is to prevent afking, please present a way to achieve these titles in a realistic timeframe without it. Thank you.

I probably shouldn't be asking this since it might give some people ideas, but.....

does this mean that people can duplicate items? or do the buyers also lose what they bought through trade?

I certainly wouldn't want to see the Diablo II SoJ happen in Guildwars....

dont worry, items dont get dupped when this happens. Items and cash return to the person they belonged to.

For me I was forming a group for Abaddons gate with guildies in the international districts. Suddenly we all god err7'd and came back to ID 2, with all our skill adjustments having been undone. So it looks like we had a few minutes of rollback. However I was on the build I switched to between first entering ID1 and having the err7, but both my builds were on templates.

When I tried to zone us to ID1 we were told we were already in that district and the number of the district we were in changed from 2 to 1.

I definetly got rolled back, I left the rollerbeetle game, and went to shing jea bought 2 cupcakes, and then bought 1000 tickets, and sat for an hour on the rigns then went to the forum and finaly bed, came back this mornign to fined i had my character logged out, the 20 victory tokens back and no tickets with 15 k of gold and nothing on my titles

if this happens every time you do rings its a total waste of time, who wants to log in and out to do damn rings!

The templates are saved on your laptop/pc so are always unafected by a server rollback :P

Did have a error 7 today but 2 hours earlier, got 3 reconnect attempts and they all failed, an dthen it said cannot find the mission you specified.. (while i was in a explorable )

EU server seems to have some problems IMO, got error 7 yet again and had 2 times the reconnect option before i got a error 19 (Cannot find the mission you specified).
Very handy reconnect function that doesn't work -_-

As I understand it, there was a major exploit, dont ask 'cos I dont know the details, but this was bad enough that the srevers had to be rolled back. Probably too many cupcakes dropping after yesterdays c**k-up when none dropped.

Either way you should all have lost nothing but time. :P

I don't know any other Dev Team that can piss off gold-sinkers as well as ArenaNet can.

/shrug

I was logged out, playing another notorious MMOG at the time, and I didn't lose anything. Now I'm afk'ing in both... Go figure.

Data corruption is exactly what it sounds like, though. If it's only Euros having the problem, there might have been a problem in a Euro data center that forced everyone affected to roll back to the backup copies stored at other data centers.

this is bullshit....i mena come on now that the title make a difference in game play they put in an AFK check? what about all those other players that are reaping the rewards of getting a seemingly worthless title the last 3-4 times they had rings...the only way to get a good title track is to AFK rings...the winnings are so small that it takes a good long time to get anything.....lost points that i had gotten even when i wasnt afk....stupidstupidstupid.....btw I am on American Servers....played for a few hours last night...then went afk around 11:30pm Est in dist 14 of Shing Jea.....total bs

Nope, didn't happen to me and i'm on Euro. I was afk'ing it last night up until about 5am GMT (my uni router drops connection at that time) and i came back with an almost empty inventory of tickets, gold spent and points gained.

With a title that can only be even worked on one weekend every few months, that time means alot. Lockpicks are hardly a way to get anywhere close to maxing these titles. 250 lucky points, what now seems like 2.5mil to max? Bollocks.
