Unfortunately, your syntax and grammer make it a bit difficult to decipher what the problem is.

Please read the sticky: Please Read Before Posting Computer Problems, Tech Guides and then post some additional information about your problem and perhaps we will be able to offer some suggestions to help you. Thanks!

Maybe I can assist!

I too have a similar problem. At times I will be happily playing for a relatively long period of time, either in explorable areas or in towns/outposts, and I will suddenly have the screen frozen.

I have full background sound but am unable to move the mouse and/or exit to normal windows via use of either ctrl/alt delete.

The only solution is to switch the computer off at the front and let it reboot.

I have always assumed that this is a GW server issue (I am on the Euro server) but I would appreciate any advice/comments in relation to this issue.

Oh, I have a brand new state of the art Dell XPS 710 system, which has been optioned up to the high end of specs so system resources is not an issue IMO.

I can tell you right now that this isn't a Guild Wars problem - Your system's having resource conflicts. Are you using a USB mouse, or is it plugged into the PS/2 port on your computer?

USB connection for mouse.

Can't understand why a top of the range Dell system would have "resource conflicts". This problem was also occuring on my older pentium based machine as well. The identical problem.

I have 4GB of RAM in my Dell system.

Any chance it is a GW Euro server issue (particularly when other guildies in my clan complain of the smae problem?)

Resource conflicts aren't necessarily tied to memory. It's more like one or more devices are trying to share one or more IRQ or DMA channels at the same time.

There does seem to be a disturbing pattern centering around GW Euro servers and players at the moment. Lag spikes, and such, but I really can't see how a GW server could lock up your mouse. The servers don't have that level of access into your system. If this is happening on more than one computer, even more so outside your place, then you all need to send a support ticket in so that they can document the problem; Alex Weeks has been posting on some of the threads so I think they're trying to find an answer.

First of all, iv never heard of a "Top of the range Dell system" seeing as Dell is the cheap computer brand that can't make anything good, aside from that, IF you have 4GB of ram, which i am doubting as iv never seen a Dell advertising a 4GB system of even an option on the website to upgrade. 2GB caps are there for 32bit Systems, so obviously you have a 64 bit, and running vista, because Vista is the only OS thats supports 4GB Ram, mind you dell computers having 2-3 Ram slots must mean that you have a 2GB Ram card in atleast 1, which once again isnt an option on the Dell website.

So my opinion is, IF these are your true specs (there is no point bragging on a forum because its not going to help you) then your aftermarket parts have not been installed correctly and after heating up inside your system are cause conflictions. Other than that, Vista is still causing some errors with GW, so that may be your problem.
