Default Email & GW Account Hacked - How Can I Get My Account Back?

Quite a while ago, my Hotmail account was hacked into. I'm not sure how or who did it. So I've been trying to get my account back. Last week, I went to the PlayNC support website and tried to get my account back. (I still have the Prophecies and Faction boxes with the Access Keys inside)

How do you know that my Access Keys are for the Asian version of Guild Wars? Do my Access Keys show that? I used to play on the North American server. Also, I can't read Thai.

By the way, if you would also like some digital images of the boxes and access key, please tell me. Don't expect the access keys to show up super-clear though (I've tried it before).

Greetings,
My e-mail account was hacked a few months ago and the hacker also change the e-mail account and password of my Guild Wars account. During that period of time, I was quite in despair because of the amount of money and time I had spent on the game. Recently, my friend told me that if I gave the Access Codes then I could get my account back. I hope he's correct.

So here they are:
Guild Wars (Prophecies): XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Note: The 8's might be B's. The access key is rather distorted.
Guild Wars Factions: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Note: Factions' access keys cards are much easier to read!

Prophecies and Factions were the only campaigns I had installed at the time the account was hacked.

So they couldn't really help me and directed me to a Thai website.

So my question is, does anyone know of any way I can retrieve my account? I remember my character's names and when they were created (provided that they weren't deleted). Also, if I don't suppose that either Alex Weekes or Gaile Gray can help me out if I PM them, right? (I think that this is irrelevant to their department)

If they changed the email and you can't reset it for the master PlayNC account (or just GW if you never made a PlayNC account), I think you're screwed. A guildie of mine resetly was hacked and all his characters deleted. The only thing Anet/PlayNC would do was reset his password to the email he gave them. Luckily the password was either not the same for GW as it was for his email, or they had no interest in getting into it.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong however... good luck.

Just a few things you should know:

- Alex Weekes or Gaile Gray and won't do anything to help you. Its not their problem.

- If you have a Asian version of Guild Wars you should contact your locate support there. The American/Euro NC support rightfully won't help you.

- Its very unlikely your get your hacked account back, unless you have proof of purchase, in which case you need to scan it and e-mail it them via support.

- A.net will not restore all lose characters, items, gold, weapons, ect... FACT

Hope you get it sorted, but there no point telling anymore here, as there nothing anyone here can do.

Do the boxes and my access keys count as proof of purchase? Or do I need the receipt or something?

If I bought this in Malaysia, anyone know which country's Guild Wars Support I should contact? (Malaysia doesn't have one)

Several things are going wrong here. First if you have the original keycodes NC-Soft and A-Net should give you your account back if you can prove that you did not give it to anyone else (I had one of my accounts hacked and had a bit of trouble with them, but through a little patience and several E-Mails it was fixed). Where you buy the game shouldn't be an issue especialy if you are in the military as many of my friends are stationed throught the world. Just be patient with tehm send all teh info that you can and hope it gets worked out. One word of advice: be paranoid about security, install a good firewall, antivirus, and 2 or more adware busting programs. And make sure that any passwords that you have consist of letters and numbers, the longer teh password the harder and longer it will take to break.
