Default nvidia omega drivers and GW

graphics card: jupiter digital nvidia fx5500 PCI with 256mb
drivers: latest omega drivers (version 66.something or another)

as far as i can tell, the game runs pretty good with these drivers, although it's difficult to tell. the only problem i'm getting is that it takes forever to alt tab out of the game. takes about 8 seconds or so.

does anyone else use these drivers and have similar problems? and of course, is there really a performance difference between omega nvidia drivers and the default nvidia drivers?

What's your system memory? Of course, tabbing out goes a lot faster with more memory. Since Omega Drivers have a lot of optimizations, this may be impacting the way Windows juggles task switching when you alt-tab. In other words, you may be getting video performance optimized at some extra expense to memory usage...a trade off.

it's 1gb. the mobo comes with the intel GMA, which always takes a chunk of ram away. i've managed to cut it down to about 8 mb, but i can never seem to get rid of it entirely.

Can't you disable the Intel GMA entirely from within BIOS?

i can make the mobo use the PCI card instead of the onboard, but it's impossible to make the onboard not take a chunk out of my ram. kinda odd, but there doesn't seem to be much i can do about it.
