My PC will lockup when it gets warm. Since the update last night it has been locking up constantly. I know it's not getting hot. Has anyone else had any issues since the weekend update?

You opened it up and cleaned all the dust out, making sure to pay special attention to the heatsinks and fans?

Yes, it has been cleaned. Motherboard monitor shows it isn't getting to the lockup temperature. I even have 2 outside box fans blowing on it. It all started after I got the update last night. GW is unplayable, it locksup everytime I am running it. Other games do not do this.

Try defragging. I know it sounds stupid, but sometimes programs will freeze if they're super screwed up like that (happened to a friend) and updates will fragment it like mad... but I highly doubt that's the problem.

How about some info on your processor, mobo, GPU, overclocks, fans, and idle/GW/full load temperatures?

How about the Graphics Card temps? You checked them out as they'll be separate to the mobo and CPU temps.

I am defragging as we speak. I don't have a sensor on the vid card, or at least it doesn't show it on the monitor.

This isn't the latest or greatest PC, but it has always performed fine except the ocassional heating issue.

AMD 2200+
ATI 9600xt
1024 PC200 Corsair ram
Gigabyte mobo

Like I said, it has had some overheating issues only with GW. But it has become unplayable since last night.

We need details on the internal temperature while idle, playing other games, full load, and playing GW. Try DLing ATItool http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/ installing that, and if you have GPU sensors it should display the temperature of your card and maybe the environment around it.

Ok my defrag quit saying that GW.dat could not be fragmented. What should I do now?

GW.dat file = 336 fragments
cannot be defragged

I read the thread stickied here and am defragging the dat file through the run command area. If this doesn't work do I need to re-install? Also sometimes when I go into areas I might have to download a few files, but it takes forever even for like 5 files. What causes this? And is there a way or place to download all the files needed without getting them through the game?

If it doesn't work I'd recommend the reinstall.
There is no way to get the game content except through the game client - the only workaround to that is to copy your GW.Dat file to another location on your hard drive (or better yet to a DVD if you have that option) and copying it back into the GW folder once you finish the reinstall.

I have been having the same problem. My screen will just randomly lock up.

Defragging didn't help. I will try reinstalling and see if it helps any.
