Default Ctrl key issues

I'm not sure where the problem lies (hardware or OS).

My left Ctrl key doesn't work at all. The past few XP reinstalls haven't restored its functionality. Which is fine, since I have another one.

However, while the right Ctrl key works, it does not work in GW. It works in every other application I run (including games). I can't map anything to the key, it's like GW just doesn't recognize it. It's rather annoying because alot of the chat features rely on the ctrl key.

Anyone seen this before or have any idea what could be causing this?

hrm.... if you look at some of the default keys doesn't it say LFT or LEFT CTRL key?

Try manually typing in RHT or RIGHT or some version and see if that works...not currently at my game so sorry....but i know it does that for the ALT key

Funny as it is, I have the same problem. My left ctrl key broke ages ago, before I started playing GW. No right ctrol key for me either, and anyway, due ctrl's funtionality in GW, that was not manageable, either. My advice would be to change your key settings, even if that is a bit of a bother.

Changing Ctrl funtion to left alt, or mayus, has worked fine for me; but be aware that you will have to replace that key funtion to another place. Gl.

No - GW wont read the right control key for some reason - just tried it out. However, I believe the Right Alt key is unassigned. GW does read the right Alt separate from left so you could assign it in place of left Ctrl.

I have the same exact problem. For targeting, I had to switch it to "shift + spacebar." I never did figure out why it didn't work.

So wait, GW won't recognize the right Ctrl key no matter what (even if my keyboard was operating correctly)?

I'm not worried about reassigning commands to other buttons. I'm just annoyed that I can't copy people's names from the chat.
