Up until I hit a certain Nightfall Mission, I was able to roam all of GW. Now I am unable to use my dervish, and the message says GW has to be terminated. I spent an ample ammount of time and effort on my dervish just to be disconnected from me due to a graphics card. Arena.net and NCSoft promised to have the least needed graphics card to play GW. But the one thing that drives me up the walls is that I was able to play the game, up until that one point with no problems what so ever. I uninstallled and I reinstalled, no help, also sent an email to Arena.net.

edited: it was a town called Wehhan Terraces

Which point in game? What's your system spec, what's your graphic card? You'll need to post more info.

I am blaming Arena.net of the loss of my character, of my effort and time spent on this game. I completed all 3 chapters with no problem with other characters, up until now this is my complaint against Arena.net. For all I know if I move my character to any other town, that character will become obsolete and will share the same faith I did to my dervish, deletion. I now have one town place that I can NEVER allow any of my characters venture in.

So.. are you saying your Dervish was deleted by Anet because your graphics card wasn't enough for Wehhan Terraces or what?

Or does the game crash every time you enter Wehhan Terraces and YOU deleted your own derv because you couldn't log in without the game crashing?

Unless you actually deleted your Dervish yourself (or you've been hacked and someone else deleted your dervish to have a laugh with you) then you just need a better card, although it looks like your using a laptop and it doesn't say in those specs what graphics chip you actually have, although with that spec of laptop, it's doubtful its a great one anyway...

I deleted my dervish myself just now after stripping him down. My game freezes and a window pops up on desktop saying Guild Wars has to terminate and gives me a link for a graphics card requirements.

Well that was stupid...

its not the game thats at fault, its the lack of system specs on your laptop...

Why'd you go and delete your dervish? thats just stupid as the character information and all your account information is held on the server, not your computer... you can access your account game information from any computer the game is installed on

THe game is client/server based. any error you get SHOULD only be on your side. (data corruption on their end is possible i assume, but then it would be another issue entirely)
Any crashes or freezes you get have nothing to do with your charachter. It is something your charachter has, a window that opens, or some visual in the area you are in that crashes the computer. First, try turning your settings lowest possible, and if that doesnt work, delete your gw.dat file and redownload it. This should fix any client problems on your end. Next, if that doesnt fix it, try logging in from another computer. If that works (and 99% of the time it will), you most likely have a graphics card that cant handle the area you are in. Hopefully, moving somewhere on another computer should allow you to access your dervish again, but you probably will never be able to access the town on that graphics card.
If you do manage to escape the town, remember this problem isnt "fixed", its just a workaround, and it can still come back and bite you in the a$$ at some other time.

If you did delete your dervish, and it sounds like you did, nothing really was fixed. Its quite possible that next time you take a different charachter into the terraces, you are doomed to the same crash

I could care less for the dervish. I am complaining that Arena.net screwed up my gameplay from one town. I finished the WHOLE 3 chapters with no problems. Why when I make a dervish this ONE town gives me problems. You can't go around the fact that why does this one town effect my account? WHY does this town only have that certain graphics problem. I could care less of ANY of my characters and my account, it wasn't a ragequit of a character is was the only way to not spend alot of money for just one little bitty character. I even now used my necro as a guinea pig and got the same result as the dervish. And now the necro is now being deleted. As for my letter to Arena.net here it is:

The you have been very blessed. Because this card is not supposed to be able to play the game at all. You can try logging in on another character and lowering the graphics settings as a way to get to this character but if that does not work you will have to upgrade the video card.

I did move my dervish from another laptop, but on the main laptop the dervish jumps from the guild wall back to that town.

Hold on, wait... things cost twice as much in England compared to the US and thats before you factor into the fact that the ratio is $1.98 to the £... but ok...

Besides, you CAN'T generally buy graphics cards for laptops on the market, they are usually only reserved for the manufacturers and nigh on impossible to get hold of...

I'm sorry if i sounded harsh in my previous post, but i meant it as more of a joking dig in the ribs about it, as to be honest, it is very funny (not that you can't play, just that you deleted the dervish for the problem, thats some hella dervish hate there)

Anyway, you laptop really isn't upto the game much now, and there is likely a minor update in graphics coming again with the release of Eye of the North (as the video or it so far looks like they are adding lighting bloom, which should look great in the dungeons), but yeah, your system may just not be upto it anymore

Bit of free advice for you, try thinking before hitting that 'submit' button as it works wonders in avoiding embarrassment. Next time though, perhaps you'll actually take the time to read the games requirements before finding out it wont run on your sub-par equipment after the fact.

-_- ................, I knew what the problem is as a few people posted saying have that problem as well in the past. I could give you the link to both wiki and here in tech faqs in order to get it sorted out as well but your responded post make me change my mind.
