Default Connecting problems (058)

Hello,
I'm having a problem running GUILD WARS. When I try to enter the game after the patch was installed it gets stuck on the "connecting..". And sometimes it gives me the code=058.
I did what the support says and opened the ports and allowed GW in my win xp firewall but still it won't work. I uninstalled it and tried again and still it doesn't works.
Any suggestions?

(Writing for a friend).

I had the same problem.
I fixed it by uninstalling and downloading everything again (using the -image).

When I had this problem, it was a temporary connection issue at the side of ArenaNet. If your problem persists, do a search in the GuildWars support database and.or submit a support request.

It's most likely a problem with being able to connect to their servers from your location, probably temporary. Could be a routing issue with the ISP your friend has, or perhaps a temporary issue with playNC servers. Some connection issues are also resolved by reinstalling guild wars for some reason. I would recommend NOT shutting off any security programs or playing without a router. You also don't need to use port forwarding, unless you're hosting a game on your computer.

If he was able to connect just fine before, it's a temporary issue that will resolve on it's own most likely.
