Default freezing problems

Hi,
I have a problem, and i already did some stuff to see if i could solve it, but the problem persists.

it has 3 ways to happen:

1rst - the character stops but i see everything going on normally, but i just can't move the character, then the character teleports itself (i think to the place i was suppose to go, if the game didn't stop) and the game goes on normally without lag untill the next stop, and this keep happenning all the time.

2nd - the character stops, but this time everything else stops, then i see the game at a super faster pace until it reaches the normal, and once again, it keeps happening all the time.

3rd - the charecter stops, and everything else stops, then i see everything in slowmotion, then it stops again, to start the slowmotion thing again, while in slowmotion, it seems like the game is doing some little leaps, though the movements of the character are flowing.

this was mostly also the evolution of the problem, it started like number 1, then it got like number 3, though sometimes it gets mixed, so theres is not anymore 1 main way to the problem to happen, but some of the 3 i wrote previously.

the pings are not stable, they vary in a matter of 30 seconds:
in the point 1, 200 to 1600.
in the point 2, 300 to 2500.
in the point 3, 350 to 8000
and now, 200 to 8000.

i already did a lot of scans for virus, and i haven't find anything. then i tried to see if the problem was from the ISP, but they runned some tests, and supposelly concluded that it was not their problem. Then i did the -repair thing, but it didn't chage anything. i'm out of ideas, so i'm posting this here in hope you guyz can help me.

additional info: the problem started in 27.06.07 around 15:00 GMT, i started playing earlier, but the problem only appeared while i was playing HA, or when i started doing it, i really can't remember (i started playing at 12:30 +/-, but i did other things before going to HA, where i didn't experience any of this problems). My ISP is from portugal, and i only had error's 2 times, and they were during map change. No one seems to have this problem, though there are some that are having some freezes explained in the second point, but their pings are just fine.

I seem to be having the same problem, my ping will go from 188ms to 500ms and even into the thousands within a matter of seconds. It also goes back down just a quick as it's forever changing... It also started for me yesterday so i'm presuming it must be something to do with the GW server because my net is running fine otherwise, and i'm getting my usual speeds elsewhere.

I have exactly the same problem, it started yesterday, for what it seems it has to do with the Gw servers 'cause my net is also running fine

Well the same has been happening to me since yesterday.

Regular 100ms ping will jump to more than 1000ms for some seconds, making the game freeze for some seconds and delaying skill activation for 1/2 seconds.

All my other internet applications ( other games, downloads, speedtests etc ) are fine...

Ditto. Mine also started yesterday. It's so frequent since then I simply can't play the game.

Now however, Upon starting up guild wars, no progress is made at all on the 'connecting to anet' bar. Its been unable to load for several hours now. I've never had any problems really with lag or severe loading probs to this extent before.

Plus all my internet programs/connection is fine. =s odd?

The problems described by the OP all sound like simple lag - the client is having trouble synching up with the server.

Lag can be caused by lots of things at either end or anywhere in between. No easy fix for it.

Same here.
I've been playing GW for 2 years now, but since yesterday or since maybe 2 days I've been getting these huge lags. It's unplayable like that, sometimes I even get lags of 1-3 seconds. Never had them before in 26 months.

I've done several speed tests on my internet connection and they were all at 99-100%.

same problems here, average ping.. 20 seconds.
doing a traceroute I get this:

so anyone with a connection passing through fra10.ip.tiscali.net should be getting unbearable lag.
is everyone here from Portugal?

Default Game Freezing, sometimes rebooting PC!

Hello everyone. New to the game and am on a friend's buddy-pass...but great game and want to buy it, but I'm having problems running it longer than 20 minutes at home.

The Issue: It totally freezes PC after about 15-20 mins of playing. 80% of the time that it freezes, it just reboots the PC automatically, others it does not, just freezes and I have to do a hard reboot.

What I've done:
  1. Uninstalled - Reinstalled newest drivers from NVidia (twice)
I have uninstalled the client and am now reinstalling it. So lets hope that works.

I am just logging the issue, and seeing who, if anyone, has had and fixed this issue before and would like to provide somefeedback for a GW noob. TY!
