Default Severe loading problems

I had to do a full system restore a while ago, and ever since I've been unable to load certain areas, like International District Anywhere, and Factions Anywhere. The client starts to decompress files, and then stops at 5 files left, or 3, or 1. I once left GW overnight loading Lions Arch International with the client displaying "Decompressing files . . . 5 files left", and in the morning it was still "Decompressing files . . . 5 files left".

I know this is a problem on my computer's end, but I have no idea how to fix it. I've uninstalled GW and re-downloaded it. I've defragged both my computer and all the individual GW files. Any other ideas?

Hi.
It is not just you I am afraid.

I have been working on my PC all day too thinking I had issues with my Net connection, net card, etc.
Due to the Dragon Festival going on in Canta the servers everywhere are lagging and slow loading/not loading. It is making doing any mission a pain in the butt. These festivals are fun and all but the lag and other problems make me question if they are good for GW as a whole?

I bet your problems will stop once they reupdate and take out the festival stuff after this weekend.

Good luck.

Spoke too soon. Seems the issues are more widespread then I thought:

I'm sure the Festival isn't helping, but I've had this problem since three weeks ago, when I went on vacation. Is there a file that doesn't delete when you uninstall?

When you did this did you uninstall it from the control panel add/remove programs and as well delete the game folder saving your screenshots file.If you didn't do this then that could be your problem as it is corrupted your file.I would if I delete the dat.bak file and redownload it.I would use the start under GW.exe for the -image under c:/programs/guildwars.exe -image i believe that is it.
