Sound issues
I just bought and started playing Factions today, and I've been having some trouble with the sounds... I haven't been able to hear any music, or character/NPC voices (if they exist in this game). I have, however, been able to hear fighting and running noises as well as some nature sounds, like wind. I've tried adjusting the sound levels under Options but I've had no luck. Any ideas?

can you please tell me i got the same problem.
i can't hear voices,but i can hear nature and fighting and running. can you tell me how you did it? |

I'd guess your computer is set to 5.1 speaker output but has no center speaker. There seems to have been a change the default sound system a while ago that enabled multi-speaker sound output even if you don't have hardware acceleration turned on. However, the downside is that if your Windows settings don't actually match your speaker configuration, you may lose audio channels - in this case, you're presumably losing the front center channel, where speech normally is played.
