Tough choice... the dv6335us has nice processing power, but lacks in video card goodness, while the dv6000z has mediocre processing power and decent graphics card. I would probably go with the dv6000z, although I wasn't aware the sempron 3200's had a 512 L2 cache.

So basically it comes down to choosing b/w and ATI Radeon graphics card or Nvidea GeForce Go 1650. However both are AMD machines and I was told to avoid them but am not sure why...

The Intel VS AMD war is a war over processors. Both sell the same product doing the SAME job, the ONLY difference is their overall performance and cost. Today AMD will have the cheaper processors/performance and Intel a higher cost for slightly improved performance. Most of AMD's mainstream processors are based on the 90nm arcitecture, they run hotter and less efficiently (more voltage) then Intel's 65nm arcitecture. Seeing as you are buying a laptop, heat may become a large concern and you may want to opt for an Intel based machine. But overall, It MAKES NO REAL DIFFERENCE, which processor you have installed on your machine. If you're looking for cost vs performance, go for AMD. If you're paranoid about heat, or don't mind spending the extra 100$ for slightly better overall performance, go for Intel. To run GW you will need a mid range graphics card and processor. (a 2.8+ Ghrz single core or 2.2+ dual core should more than suffice). If you plan on doing multiple things at once (most people do) get a Dual Core processor (most laptops these days ought to come with them anyways). The pavilion 6425 should be able to run Guild Wars just fine and the processor is acceptable, not an expert on graphics cards though.
