As someone who monitors the Internet Weather Reports for Internet health I can tell you all the Global Crossings had a major outage. If your provider was going though Global Crossings it was highly likely that you were disconnected. This was NOT ANET's fault unless they use them.

That makes sense as something that was the likely cause. Lot of folks come out against ANet with both guns blazing.
My view: even if it was ANet's failure, their server reliability is far better than many of their competitor's. In fact, the lag issues surrounding the large updates and holiday events are the usual extent of the problems.
Mass disconnects, I can't recall one in the last 2 years.

Seeing as how my tracert to the GW servers doesn't go through a Global Crossings (Level3 -> alter.net) network I'm more inclined to say this IS ANET's fault.

Thank you that helps confirm it Level 3 problems were sourced with Global according to the Internet Health Report.
http://www.internetpulse.net/Main.aspx?Period=RH1
about 40 minutes ago Global was in the red as well as Level 3.

Oh come on GloryFox, its so much easier to blame Anet for everything instead of actually finding out facts or the causality.

It does when the varying time of disconnecting makes people lose Guild Battles because of the other team disconnecting last.
If something like this is happening, it shouldn't be allowed to have standing effect on the game.

I, for one, am tired of issues unrelated to Arenanet ruining my Guild Wars experience.
I just spilled beer on myself! In the middle of a RA match too!

Thank you lyra_song
It is still my belief that the problems started with Global and spilled over to Level 3. Whatever the case people should still not be so keen in attacking ANET.

Fight? What's there to fight either than a couple of Hulking Stone Elementals?
