Default CPU Temp

Hey all.

I bought a new pc a month or two ago and I was wondering what a normal temp should be for a CPU.

I have a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU 6420 @2.13Ghz and hit hovers arond 37 degrees Celcius. And while playing GW it gets up around 43-46 degrees.

Is there any danger with it operating that high? I seen somewhere i don't remember where that it said I should keep the temp below 30 degrees...but i am unable to do that so far.

Any ideas or thoughts

46 degrees is no problem. According to Intel's spec (http://processorfinder.intel.com/det...?sSpec=SLA4T#), the E6420 should be able to handle up to 60 degrees.

Core 2 CPUs should work fine at least up to 60 C. Those temperatures are actually very good.

Anything below 50C is good in my books for a C2D! I use a sizeable 3rd party cooler for my CPU, AMD dual-core, and I've never seen it hit 40C under a full load yet.
