I've been to all points of help only to finally be referred here. I've spent two days trying to fix this in constant contact with the guild wars support team, they have been little help.

I have what I assume is a rare reaction to the GWEN patching I can get on my characters walk around and go into areas but the second I open the world map after a few minuets of playing I have a FULL system freeze, not just the game my entire system freezes and needs a hard reset.

I have disabled all my startup items and crashed. I have updated all my drivers, and crashed. I have even gone as far as removing my one gig ram chip at the advice of the guild wars support, and crashed. I even un-installed and reinstalled the program, and crashed.

My theory is that the patch is to blame, but the support team wont look into it saying all it did was patch the main game and shouldn't have done what i say it is doing. But that is the only change since i put in the code and patched.

For anyone that can help me, before the freeze on most ocassions, i hear a grainy whine before and during the freeze before the hard reset. I really want this fixed before the GWEN pre-release. Anyone have any advice?

WTF? There hasn't been a GW:EotN patch release in the last two days! Have you ruled out any hardware problems before blindly accusing a non-existant patch for your problems?

The Problems started two days ago when I logged in. It may be an older patch because I have been away at work and preparing for school and only been able to play sporadically. And like I said, I have ruled out all hardware issues. It has only started having problems since the GWEN updates started. I had no problems at the beginning of the month and no other programs run improperly. I am not a newbie when it comes to computers.

Would a hardware problem let you log in and walk around and ONLY freeze when you open the world map?

whine from your PC? - power supply isn't providing enough power to the video card.
you do a gw.exe -repair
post your dxdiag

start-run-dxdiag-save all information post the contents of the text file

I have same problem.

Changed nothing at all, but since last update, my system simply scrashes after few minutes of gw running ... i dont even have to go past login screen.

Its from the speakers not the pc, and I already went threw that with the NCsoft support.

Sound like a driver faulty, maybe one of the driver has become corrupted. Have you try running different games on the pc? Post dxdiag here if you want, and see what we have.

Strange, i have the same problem as of the start of the sneak peak event. Been away from gw for two weeks due to work and was looking forward to this event. managed to get to the first cut scene and then my system froze. every attempt since then i has gotten me nowhere.

I'm currently building a new system anyway and hoping i can get it operational in time to try out at least a bit of eye of the north

Yes. I've run Trickster, Oblivion, and just for good measure Starcraft. There is no reason why the card should be ineffective. I should know though Because of my cards older class I run Oblivion modded with Oldblivion. My DxDiag is too large to post sadly so I cannot. I will post it if you still think its an issue.
