isn't the HP pavilion a notebook????? The GeForce FX5500 is a desktop GPU. I'm pretty positive that will not work.

i've got a GeForce FX5500 for my desktop, and it is way old. Got it back in 2004, and there are much better GPU's out on the market today. I'm about to get rid of it and get a 7300GT. It doesn't run GW very smooth at all, you're lucky if you can put out 20 FPS when ur running around.

Googled "hp pavilion a705w", it seems to be a cheap-ass desktop. It uses some obscure cheap motherboard from MSI that may or may not have an AGP port so PCI may be the only way to go here.

Just so you know: the GeForce FX 5 series already sucked when it came out. Its shader performance and power efficiency is very poor compared to newer stuff, and the FX 5500 is just a middlerange card from the series; it will not run GW or any recent game playably at high settings and/or resolutions.

Though it's definitely an upgrade from the integrated card.

lol, yes it is a cheap ass desktop, my rents bought it for me @ $500 at walmart =.=. But yes, all i'm trying to do is get an upgrade from my integrated card, so i was just wondering, since i'm buying it for $50, if this was an ok deal?

btw, the best i can run GW at atm is at all low/off, cept graphics i can go at medium...so...this will hopefully be a huge upgrade

Personally, I'd avoid any Nvidia card that has "FX" or "MX" in it's title!

If you're gonna upgrade you might as well get the recommended Spec card: 9600 or FX5700 OR BETTER.

Just make sure your CPU is good enough too, no point getting a new 3D card if your CPU isnt at least a P4 2gig (Celerons = bad).

Again, you might want to avoid GeForce FX 5-something cards even though they're recommended by Anet - those recommendations are OLD. The GeForce FX is also a pretty bad design overall, it has shader performance issues with pretty much every recent title, including GW: Nightfall and Eye of the North. I've seen much better cards sell for around $50.
