Default Cant go pass loading screen?? :(

Hi all,

I have a problem with GW since 2 days ago. I cant get pass the loading screen!

To make sure, loading screen I was referring to is, the first screen you get after you choose your character when you started the game. It always goes from 0% to 100% like usuall, but then, it stopped there.. nothing happened. I tried yesterday to just waiting because maybe it is SUDDENTLY become longer, .... , then after 20 mins, still no response

Today, I done like 60+ trial entering and closing the program. couple time, I can get through but then I am stuck, not moving then I decided to press and hold left click to make the network keep asking for response and they threw me err7..

I know until this point you maybe think this have something to do with my ISP. But I don't think it is, because:

1. All other internet activity of mine, are doing fine. MSN, general internet, and even tried Xbox 360's connection and all is normal.

2. I tried to download like usuall, wondering how many kbps I could get, and to my surprise, it is still at 30~35 kbps (yeah its slow for some of you >_>) which is decent.

Weird thing is, everything from log in screen until character select (and I even try to enter store), all normal, fast and everything...but only when enter the load screen.. omg..

So everyone, what can I do? help plz

PS: mods, if this is the wrong forum section, please kindly remove it

Now that I think about it, I usually hibernate my laptop, because the booting up took so long.

But yes I have restarted because I just downloaded Avast free anti virus.

>_<

Try a program called Contig(I think it is). Theres a link in the Stickys somewhere, itll defrag your GW.dat file. READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY! Try that first.

I had the same problem some time ago. Try to uninstall all mods you have installed (for example the UT soundmod), if that doesn't work try setting your pc date/time.

Thanks! looking forward for your explanation

This takes some more time, but you could also delete your GW folder (maybe save the screenies/templates if you like. Then redownload all of it.

As I said, it takes a while but it might be the quickest solution for the moment.

No, its not just autpmatic updates, but also check ur video card is NOT VGA compatible, but is acctually running the program and not just being compatible, i cant really explain what my sisters boyfreind did but he explained why i had the problems to begn with, and the main problem was running the VGA card in the propper softwear, where as before it was only compatible.

P.S. its not the GW server

No you're not alone. Ever since the infamous Rit Spiker rebalancing update two weeks ago, I haven't been able to connect to anet's server at all.

Loading the game client? Forget about it. My client download alternates between "connecting to arenanet" and "downloading 0%, 0 kb/s".

For a brief time last week, I actually could log in but couldn't zone. All of my toons were pretty much trapped where they were since I couldn't get past any loading/downloading screens.

I know I'm no help, but just letting you know you're not the only one. Moral support, I guess.

Thank you T_T (well, not that I am relief that you are also experiencing this, but merely because I am not alone :0 )

This is not good

One of the reason I ordered pre-order GW:EN is for this weekend :0

Hmm. For what it's worth, I just hit a slight breakthrough.

My gaming desktop still cannot connect consistently to anet's download server.

But I just decided to download the GW client on my laptop as a test... and it's downloading with a solid connection to the server.

So for the last week and a half, I've been blaming my ISP and working their tech support to the bone... but I think it might actually be my NIC settings, drivers or even just the NIC itself failing.

If I ever figure out what it is, I'll post here. Maybe it'll give you an idea or two.
