Hello. I have 2 sets of cd keys and 2 different accounts. Is there any way for me to be logged on to both accounts simultaneously on one PC?

For example, if I was to use one account to xfer items onto another account. Can I do that? How? Thank you.

The client wont allow itself to be run twice, your better off using to seperate computers and just managing them.

Im not even sure it will allow simultaneous logins from the same IP address. Its better off to have a friend or someone you can trust help you out.

It is technically possible to do that. There is a lengthy thread somewhere in the depths of this very forum that describes in detail how (I'm unable to locate it right now, should've bookmarked it). Be aware that you either have to tamper with your regestry and hack the gw.exe or use a 3rd party application for this, wich both isn't actually encouraged. In fact, hacking your gw.exe is a clear violation of the EULA. But as the modification needed to allow multiple instances of the client is absolutely harmless, it is tolerated by Anet. It is not clear to me if the 3rd party tool violates the EULA, too, but there's always the risk of malicious additions to the software. The general consensus is that it is safe to use, though.

In short:
* Yes, can be done (and is done by many users on a regular basis)
* may involve breaking the EULA and other risks
* Anet is aware of this and is fine with it as long as you don't break anything. They won't support it, but they won't ban you either.

As mentioned, using two computers would be the safe way to do it. Multiple clients from one IP address are no problem at all.

Yes its possible.

It requires you d/ling a programme, and isn't endorsed by Anet.

eightyfour-onesevenfive, while having flashy mod stylings is also correct, You use it at your own risk, they don't care if it stuffs your computer, they at the moment don't ban for it and have tolerated it for over a year.

eightyfour-onesevenfive is also right about the thread, which was almost a year old, not being around right now. Its possible it was deleted or taken to archives.

I did a google search and recieved a link to the exact thread I got my information from [Tutorial] Running 2 copies of Guild Wars, created by Ghozer 10-19-2005, 10:05 AM. But the htrea itself isn't on guru anymore.

But it's still in the google cache (dunno how long it will stay there, though).

If you have VMWare Workstation or can get a copy, it should be possible. You would just have to install GW on the virtual machine. Be prepared though, it's going to require system with some serious processing ability not to mention the effect on your bandwidth.

Also, while I haven't tried it, Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 might work also.

there is a way to run 2 clients at once, by using a hex editor or something, however it will prob lag up the system quite bad.

Just like 2 people trying to play the same account at the same time, Im pretty sure trying to play 2 accounts from the same computer will not only eat up your ram, but probably wont work and you'll get slapped with an error.

Just be careful when editing gw/exe with a hex editor, if you mess up a full client reinstall will be needed.

i actually run 2 copies of guild wars at same now and then it does take a lot of ram to run both and your fps drops to nearly half what it is with a lot more lag. so if you now dont have hardly any lag then your system may support it but probably not for a lengthy amount of time

How about reading the thread! And perhaps listening to the 2+ people who have said they run 2 accounts from the one machine! Its possible and it does eat up your FPS and connection.

Now reading isn't that hard

Two connections are allowed from a single IP, i have tested it. Use GWx2 (google it), it is not endorsed by Anet and will cause an increase in lag and drop in FPS, use it at your own risk.
