Default Strange connection issues - stumped

Hi all:

I have been playing GW for 2 years now, no network issues, no nothing. Day before yesterday, I take a quest in Sifhalla, zone out to Drakkar lake and boom err 007. So I try again, same thing. I tried other zones and they work fine. So i started testing systematically, this problem I have is within the following zones: Drakkar Lake, Gunnars Hold and Sepulchre of Dragimmar. Mind you, I have not tested all of the available zones in the game yet, only a few in EoTN and NF.

So this is what I have tried so far:

1) ArenaNET initial help messages from support i.e. defragment page file, connect modem to computer, kill services etc etc. Obviously no difference was made. If I can play the rest of the game fine and only have issues in some game areas, this wouldnt have made a difference anyway.

2) Checked with my ISP. Connection with my ISP is fine and everything is A-OK, no blockage on their side and no switching of IP.

3) Did testing with ping plotter. All the routes go fine until I get to plaync.com domains where the packet loss goes to 100%

So now I am stumped, how is it that I am able to play the rest of the game with no issues and only have problems zoning into these areas? I have also reinstalled the client with no improvement.

Can anyone help?

Default possible issues.

As the game progressed from prophesies to GWEN the graphics got better and better. Some graphic cards have issues with running guild wars. In some form or another. I would look into this 1st as you didn't have an issue with earlier games. Check the graphics card manufactures web site for:New drivers/Issues with guild wars. If you are using an on board graphics card, well thats the problem.

BTW some things cant be pinged, PING can be disabled as it prob is with play-nc.

I am using an ATI Radeon X800XL (256MB, 256 Bit) with the latest catalyst 7.8 drivers. All three continents and EoTN worked fine till 2 days ago.

Now I only have problems in EoTN and that too only in specific zones e.g. Gunnar's hold, Drakkar Lake, Dragimmar and EoTN. Shouldnt the graphic card problem apply to the whole EoTN expansion if this was the case?

ArenaNET say that the problem is with my ISP. I fail to understand it, if the 3 continents and most of EoTN work fine, how can it be my ISP?

Very strange issue this.

An update; my problem is fixed but it implies certain things. I worked with my ISP and all they did was change my Static ip (on which I have played GW for 2 years without any issues) to a Dynamic one. Instantly, all these issues disappeared. No other changes were made e.g. bandwidth, isp, modem, graphics etc. This leads to me believe that there is a problem at Anet server end which was doing something to my previous IP.

Anyone have similar issues or fixes before?
