Angry Cannot connect to my home wireless network

My laptop will not connect to my wireless network, it only gives me an "Limited or no Connectivity" message. My wireless network does appear on the windows "Wireless Networks" screen, but when I try and connect to it it gives me that message. I have already entered the network key from the bottom of the router. My router is an e-wire home portal 1000HW. I know that I am not doing something right, but since I am no pro with this stuff I cannot figure what it might me. If you all can give me any step by step instructions as to set up the network I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

Default Worth a try

I would start by pushing start/run/(in the box type) cmd. Then type ipconfig /release(hit enter) then ipconfig /renew.

If that doesn't solve the issue. Drop your firewall and right click the connection and select repair.
