Default Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard

So what do you guys think about it?

I'm not really an up-to-date guy when it comes to technology. Do you guys think there are better gaming keyboards, or this a good one? I like the bit where you can simply add your own macro to the "extra keys". I'm actually considering getting one, but I would like some advice from some of the more advanced techies.

Personally, I got this mouse and don't really feel the need to get a keyboard. This mouse has 8 buttons

Can't remember what I paid for it, not the $50 or so that link is showing, but it was worth it, and then some. If I recall I got it at Newegg.com It comes with weights to load into it so you can fine tune how much pressure you need to push the damn thing around with.

not worth the money, ive tried it and the keys feel like crap...I highly recommend the saitek eclipse or eclipse II, it doesn't have extra keys you'll never use, and the keys feel AMAZING, this is coming from someone who plays counter-strike source competitively, so if you would rather lose comfort for extra keys and a flashy lcd be my guest, but Ill take the comfort.

It is a nice keyboard, BUT, this is what I have to say about it.

I like the fact that it lights up, making playing in the dark much easier, infact, thats the biggest thing i like about it.

You wont get much from the LCD while playing games though. You can get time, email, email, messenger messages, system performance but most games dont support it for game information.

I also dont really use the Macro keys because I find them awkward. There are alot of them but they just arent in an intuative pattern.

I found myself getting a Belkin Nostromo SpeedPad n52 and using my mouse for playing guildwars. The speedpad is a small gamepad like keyboard that is form fitting to your hand and can macro very well.

That being said, I like the keyboard for the lighting but many others now do this. Not to mention that the keyboard is just that much bigger with all the extra keys on the side.

Another alternative if your really interested in gaming is a metal backlight keyboard that can take a pounding from repeated keystrokes like many games require. I think Razor makes one?

Anyone have any other comments?

I have the keyboard and I love it,

But having said that don't get it if you need desk space at your computer. It is large.

The macro keys can be programmed easily for the hotkey options of GW and there was a mod for the LCD screen floating around the net, but they have a problem where by everytime Anet updates the game it cause the lcd mod to not work.

But if you buy this keyboard just for GW you are crazy, meanwhile once you learn the basics about the macro keys and how to lock them to a programme, its @#$%in' beautiful man. One button click can open any programme, for a while I even had ubb code short cuts assigned for work I do on a different forum

My husband and I both got one for our anniversary gifts. I think its great to have. We use the G keys for logging in, quick emotes, /resigns, frequently said items (when in the heat of battle you can hit one button and welcome guildies). The clock is rather helpful in making sure we dont lose track of time anymore (plus I use it when doing drunk title stints). It took a day or two to get used to the feel but I think it is just fine now. USB ports on it is great for mouse and headsets. The disable Windows key switch is a nice plus too.

I have one, as well, and I use the lcd screen just for time or winamp (I found a nice plugin). In my opinion, the keys need to get used to, but when you are, it's really great. I rarely use the G keys though.
