Exclamation Laptop Screen will Turn Black or Stripes.

Hey whats up guys, I just bought this new Laptop from best buy which is the
HPdv6604nr, The game would play smoothly and fine, but after 10- 30 minutes or so, its either the screen would turn black, or it will be stripes, and u cant no longer play the game. Unless you reboot the computer. My question is, Is this a factory defect? or this laptop overheats becuase of the game? even tho they said " oh you can play Guildwars and WoW just fine WITHOUT problems " Help will be gladly Appreciated. Thanks in advance.
