yep. vista is included in all laptops now.

vista is actually better at handling dual core than winXP. whatever issues you're having, it's not the processor. your graphics is integrated, but it shouldn't have problems with GW.

ahh, i knoe i shud not be having any problems at all, do you think its becuase its over heating? but i dont think so. when i load GW, and play about an hour, its not even that hot, but then here goes the tearing effect and black screen. :[ you think this is a defective system?

you might want to search around with google to see if this is a known problem. perhaps even trying different drivers. if all else fails though, it might be defective.

Vista comes standard on Dells, but now they also include a Vista->XP disk if I remember correctly.

Vista doesnt come standard, I bought my Vostro laptop a month ago and Dell allowed me to customize for Xp. I read on pcworld.com that Xp is outselling Vista on Dell computers.

I play gw on a laptop, i recently bought vista to replace my xp because of directX10, but i have not really noticed a significant difference on the graphics when i play gw on max settings. Its probably because GW is not a directX10 game.

It works fine on my vista dual core.

Part of the problem might be the 1 Gig of memory - i have 2 Gigs on mine but it ran poorly before I added the 2nd gig. 1 gig really is the absolute minimum for vista premium and doesn't leave a lot of room for anything else. With your integrated graphics eating part of that gig too - it may just be too much. Try turning off aeroglass or adding another gig of memory.

The Laptop did not ran poorly, it was actually smooth as hell with just a 1 gig with an integrated GeForce GO 7150, it gave me 35-50 fps with MID - High settings, talking about high shaders, High Textures, medium everything. The thing that bothers me is, freaking after 15- 20 minutes of playing, my screen would just look like ridiculous as in, TEARING like a stripe shirt. like one time me and guildies are in HA ( at Burial mounds ) Screen suddenly teared, liek a stripe shirt, BUT i can still hear everybody talking on vent. how ridiculous..

How strange. I have a dual core laptop with Vista, and GW ran fine even with just 1 Gb of memory.

I did have to change my screen resolution though. I can't remember whether I put in a newer driver, I think I did. All my drivers installed in Dutch so I had to search for English ones.

Probably Over heating, Black out screen can mean so many things, First is OVERHEAT and thats a fact. Second probably a unupdated driver? not sure. Third probably defective. But if this only occurs while gaming, then its either the laptop is not for mad gaming or you are RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed. :] lol, but anyways, i returned that laptop taht is causing me some major issues, got this good deal again at bestbuy GATEWAY t-16 16, wit ha descent processor now TL-60 Turion AMD. 1 gig of ram, vista, and 1270ati GPU integrated. bout to check it out. and ill post of if still does the same blackouts and stripe lines. til then, ill be setting up this comp and brb for details. peace. QuCo love <3

duo core 2, vista, gf7600go and runs just fine, earlier had probs caused by 'enable post-process effects' which caused me to freeze for few minutes, now i think it might be overheat indeed. i don't have any more probs since updated drivers. gonna buy cooling thingy you put under laptop though and get some more ram (1gb is really not enough with vista sometimes).
