Default Constant Err=007 and GW crashing :<

I just upgraded my broadband and got given a NETGEAR DG834GT.

My internet works fine, but I get constant Err=007 when trying to log in and zone to towns.

I've read up on port forwarding, but I can't seem to make the ip address static without my internet failing.

I have 2 PCs on the network, both connected to the NETGEAR DG834GT.

Any help please

Have you given the forum a search? There are plenty of threads containing information that should be helpful, including a couple that are stickied.

Yes, I have. I tried all that I could, with no joy.

I had the same problem, same router etc. Tore my hair out in frustration trying every single fix suggested, none worked (learned a lot about routers and networking in the process lol). Eventually, in desperation, I did a clean re-install of the game, with a new download of the .exe file from guildwars.com, and a clean download of the whole game (via a -image download). I didn't do a clean re-install at first because I had been avoiding the mega download of the 3.5gig big .dat file (all i did was re-install the .exe file and copied over my .dat file). But the new clean download fixed the problem and I can connect and play properly now.

I thought for a moment that it might have been a corruption of my .dat file somehow, but it wasn't - because the game still worked fine on my other ISDN connection that I kept active just so that I could play until I sorted the problem with my new connection out. This makes me think that somewhere in the .dat file is information about your connection specifics and that it needs to be replaced if you change hardware and connection.

Hope this helps - try the clean re-install before you mess around learning more than you ever wanted to about routers and networking...

Yeah, I did a full reinstall (full .dat file with -image) recently and it crashed once, but hasn't since.

I'm still in doubts about it, but thanks for confirming my reinstall might have been worth the time it took :>

Oh and, yeah, routers and networking is a complete bitch ;>
