You could try U-Lead Movie Maker.

However as a hint on WMM, if you are using Vista and also Nero Burning ROM then this adds a codec that crashes it. If you are prepared to get rid of Nero then this may help.

However for more comprehensive advice you would be better posting your system specs as this makes a big difference to what programmes you can use or not.

I'd still try to learn premier, unless I had a friend with a mac and final cut.
Premier is confusing at first but only because it allows for a much more FINISHED movie. (unlike the typical family video crapola of WMM.)

Mac, although superior for multimedia, you might not have access too though =\

Adobe Premier Pro is deffintly the way to go. Its not to hard once you get the hang of it. Just drag your media content into the top left box, then drag what you need to the time line at the bottom, use the splice tool to chop where needed, on the top left box where your media content is there is a tab for transistions, choose one and drag it between 2 sliced vid clips to have a nice transistion....

There are tutorials out there for it, premier is the way to go

With the DvD encoding section of Nero 7.1 there is a conflit that causes WMM to crash when you try to encode your WMF. This was shortly after the release and so may have since been fixed, but I'm using Burn4Free now, which is ample for my needs and has fixed the problem
