Serious Connection Issues
Ok, there is something very wrong. Time to collect some public data on this matter.
I am located in the Midwest US, specifically Lafayette, Indiana. Guild Wars is refusing to even connect to the ArenaNet servers, thus the game isn't even loading.
I ran a diagnostic, and this is what came up.

Note the failed server connections? Please, if you are also experiencing problems, use the -diag tag and run the diagnostic. Post your findings here.
NOTE: I called my ISP, and all their systems and switches are fully functional. All other games are functioning online as well. And I am on a 45Mbps T3... THus my weird IP.

My boyfriend and I have been having some serious lag issues the past 2 days. We've lost connection several times. We've always reconnected, but it's been very slow. Almost like we had no connectivity or dial up (*insert shriek of horror*). We run Yahoo DSL and live in MI.

192.168.1.xxx is your router. Not sure why that's listed as being ArenaNet.

I recall a thread somewhere back where it was suggested that you slip "play.com 127.0.0.1" (or some variant thereon) into the hosts file of someone you love to break their GW addiction. Maybe someone is trying to tell you something Rahja...

YEa my connection here stinks O_o lagg out sooo many times, one time when i was closing a NICE trade. I think its the router in my house's problem. It can't take much at all and the signal constantly fights with my dad's internet.

Try switching dns servers in your router to primary 4.2.2.1 and secondary 4.2.2.2 For some reason your isp could block those addresses even though they said they don't. I had this happen with Road Runner when trying to set up VOIP. They said they didnt block adresses but they actually were in order to force their customers to buy their VOIP.

I can't do that, my primary is different. It is a t3 line mind you. I am still having this connection issue, I can't be the only one. BTW, I have already tried without a router.

Right, so... I uninstalled Guild Wars thinking it might be a corruption in the proxy setups because I installed the GWLP program last night. Guess what? Now it won't even connect to Arena Net for the install. So obviously, something is up with the switches on their "partners" leading to their servers.

Never mind, the host file had been edited by GWLP. Thx Unien for pointing that little issue out. I really didn't think twice about it. It appears as though my hosts file had entries added to it directing my PC to connect to my router as ArenaNet rather then their actual servers. GG
