The post is a little difficult to read, but lemme see if I understand. Your screen will blue out and restart your system when going into a cinematic or town, correct? I had a similar issue, and narrowed it down to my old video card finally just giving up. Sounds like that may be what's wrong with yours. Especially since EotN is a tad bit more heavy on the hardware than the other campaigns.

Is it always the same spots that cause the problem, or is it just random?

Also can you post your system's specs. Have you checked for dust inside your computer? If this problem happens after a while of playing GW then it may be your hardware having problem due to overheating etc.

1.What is your video card?
2. Are the drivers up to date?
3. Is DirectX up to date?

I`m not sure. These are the only places I`ve experienced any trouble with so far.(And when I try to do these things again and again no matter what I do it will still pop up that blue screen and restart my pc.)

This bug has been noticed before. If your willing to sacrifice some graphics effects, do the following.
-Right click your guild wars shortcut, click properties.
-Where it says Target, edit the field and add "-dx8 -noshaders" without the quotes.
-For example: "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -dx8 -noshaders

Now run Guild Wars and see if the problem persists. If it does,
-Go to start
-Run
-Type in "dxdiag" without the quotes.
-At the bottom, there is a a button that says save all information, click it.
-Copy and paste the text here.

I don`t understand why would you have to do this? If GW:EN needs higher graphics?
so making it lower shouldn`t work....
But you are saying it`s not my graphic card?
Oh and why doesn`t do this way to the other GWS? PH,F,NF

Btw it did work but the graphics were horrible. I can`t live with that...
__________________________________________________ ______________
Edited : So is there not any way to fix this without messing up my graphics?
I mean i don`t want the graphics to look gay....why did the company do this if it was going to mess up everyone?
I thought en was supost to be better then any of them (graphics wise) but it all it has done for me is messed me up..
xD I`m trying not to say any cuss words...Lol(Meaning I`m trying to keep my cool..)

IF anyone else knows a solution please be free to tell me THANKS!

In order to help you, we need to know what type of graphics card and drivers you have. Follow the steps for using dxdiag in my last post and post that information here.

control panel-->system-->hardware-->device manager-->display adapters

There should be exactly one item in that list. This is your video card. What is it?

No, I do not mean windows update.

Graphics card makers periodically release updated drivers for their products to improve performance, fix bugs, and ensure compatibility with the newest DirectX. You obviously have never updated these.

Now that you know what your video card is, go to its maker's website and download and the latest drivers for it.

The newest version of DirectX for WinXP is 9.0c. That "c" makes a big difference. 9.0a or 9.0b will not cut it. In fact, Microsoft periodically issues small updates to DirectX in much the same way graphics card makers do. That latest version of DirectX was released in Nov 2007. Time to update.

(DirectX 10 is available for Vista. But it is (a) only for Vista, and (b) definitely not required for GW.)

The specs can be found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...=44703&lang=en

The graphics card for your laptop is :ATI RADEON® XPRESS 200M IGP" It is a DirectX 9.0 card with 2 pixel piplines with SM 2.0. For the full graphics effects of GWEN you need SM (shader model) 3. But, that should not have the effect your are refering to. Your DirectX is upto date so we can preclude that. DirectX should step down to your card.

According to some web sites this card also appears to have a rep for having problems with memory management. The best detailed info I could find on it is at http://www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=914&page=2 they do not address the memory management issue reported on some sites.

You mention the first video sequance at the pool, and one town, which town? I want to go see which SM it uses. I think you have a video buffer issue. If it is that should be fixed by uninstalling, cleaning then reinstalling the latest version of the video driver.

Edit: GWEN is the only area that uses SM3 technology. All the other GW areas are SM 2.

Edit II: Yeppers, the "vision" is SM3 dependant, you have a buffer issue. Uninstall the driver, Use a cleaner app to delete the excess files then reinstall the driver. If that does not fix it you may need to reinstall the OS or turn off Norton AV.

If CCClearer does not work you will need to disable Norton, all of it. You could try DriveCleaner.NET You can get it at www.drivercleaner.net but you will need to follow the instructions exactly.
Do you have any trouble with other towns, like Sifalla?

1. CCleaner did work but it didn`t fix my problem i`m having
These are the things i registryed.

Missing Shared Dlls
Unused File Extensions
ActiveX and Class Issues
Applications
Fonts
Application Paths
Help Files
MUI Cache (and then i hit fix on all of them)

2.I don`t have norton virus scan thingy i use my ISP provider which is
ATAT Internet Security Suite (and i don`t think i need to turn it off.)

3.If ccleaner don`t work why try a nother program? Lol especially when it costes money....(if find a free one i could use i`d try it but....i don`t wanna pay for any more then i need to.)

4.I`m not sure i`ve not tried to go any farther then that town..

P.S
I don`t understand if my S2 works with dirctx9.0 then wtf is going on???

DriveCleaner.NET is very cheap and comes with a life time registration. But you need to follow the instructions very percisly for it to work.
You will want to download the latest version of your video card driver before you uninstall the current one.

You can not just go out and buy a new video card. If it was a desktop computer you could do that, but you r computer is a laptop. The video card is intergraded and is not replaceable.
As for why SM2 is having problems. DirectX will buffer SM3 objects, such as flames and some types of water reflections then it will build a frozen image to render in SM2 mode. This requires a little extra memory for each object. What may be happening is that the number of SM3 objects appears to be exceeding the buffer limits.
Short of reinstalling Windows your only real option at this point is to uninstall your video driver, clean off the remaining files (defraging the drive would be a good thing to do too) then reinstalling the video driver. That is why you want to download it first.
If that fails, reinstalling Windows is your only real option.

Edit: I know you have reduced the DirectX using the dx8 command line, have you turned off the shaders? The -noshaders command line may produce the video quality you are looking for without the lock ups.
