Paragon Trouble
Hi every body. So my dillemna is kind of interesting, and noone in game can seem to help me. My first Paragon Character does not throw his spears. He does not make the motion of throwing his spears but instead stand stationary while the spears magically fly forth. Does anyone know how to fix this and can you tell me? thnx

Sounds suspiciously like a corrupted GW.dat file.
If it is that, you need to delete GW.dat and run the program using the -image switch. Nasty download time :/

Couldn't he just re-install it all?
I did today, all 4 campaigns/expansions, only took me about 1-2 hours

If you have a boxed game, delete the .dat file, install from one of the disks, then use the -image switch. Otherwise you'll need to do it Snograt's way, which will take a lot longer.

Hmm, good point. If so, then use the latest disc that you have - Nightfall would be the best choice.
(Brings up an interesting question - if you got a boxed version of Eye of the North, what did it actually contain? As EotN is an expansion that requires one of the original chapters to play I would assume that there is no installation disc - do you just get a booklet and an access key?)

Installation disk, manual, map poster with dungeon locations and an access key.

I have a similar problem with my Paragon, and I am certain my gw.dat is corrupt.
My Paragon has the holding item animation instead of carrying the spear on the shoulder. It looks quite silly, really.
Also, I'm certain the retail version of EotN has an install disc, and further, it would have the most up-to-date version of gw.dat that ANet has released to disc.
edit: Nevermind, -image patched my client so my Paragon finally lost that dumb item animation with the spear.

Interesting - hopefully this is the most up-to-date version of GW.dat on disc, then.
[edit]heh, read milkflopance's post and skipped MisterB's - just repeated what he said :S
