Default nv4.disp

I searched the archives, but there are just too many returns to sort through. Has anyone found a definitive fix for the nv4.disp lock-up? I have an nvidia 7950GT with the 19dec07 driver. During normal game play, I can see up to 140FPS, so the card is pretty good, but 1-2 hours in, the game just locks up.

Any help is much appreciated.

Ah, have you had the "blue screen of death" yet? This is the newest Forceware driver, which should help.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.21_whql.html

It will change the way shading looks in game, but it's livable. Hope this helps.

Yes, the BSOD is the nv4.disp lock-up I was referring to. It says that's the problem file.

.21 is the driver I have.

I would try getting Force Ware first, if that doesn't work then it is probably a faulty video card, or it is getting over heated.

Latest drivers aren't always the best thats just a big lie, trust me I know what I'm talking about, also try downloading some older drivers that still match your card. I personally have a Geforce 7300GT I installed latest drivers and screen resolution didnt want to go up to 1280x1024, I install older ones, works like a charm.

I was having problems with the game freezing in tyrian areas with heavy snow with 4x aa turn on. Reverted back to forceware 162.22 and it fixed it. (7600 GT on vista)
