problem: with the new year, i decided its time to once again wipe my hard drive clean. i usually do this every 6 months to keep organized, and this is the first time i encounter this error. I load up guild wars, and once at the splash screen, it gets to 100%, and the screen flickers. This ONLY happens on the latest ATI drivers. has anyone else had this problem? This also is the only game it happens on. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide

Are you on the new ATI 8.1 Driver released a day or two ago? Many people have been having issues with many games such as GW, CoD4, Hellgate, Crysis, and WoW. I reverted back to the driver before 8.1 and it is working perfectly. I suppose you should do the same.

Hey I had a similar problem but with an ATI 7.12 Catalyst driver on a Radeon 2600XT DDR4 and since I got 8.1, no problem anymore, even on Vista Ultimate...
