Default Building a PC - What do you think?

I am planning on building a new - powerful - gaming pc. Have always had to deal with my pc being worse (far worse) than everybody elses and i'm doing something about it.

Heres the list of parts I have selected.

*note* with VAT it costs £1795

I have been searching, asking around for a long time and lots of people agree this seems like a good build - but what do you think?

Do you know a way I could get very similar performance for a much lower price (I am using an i7 system no matter what you say). Are the parts compatable? Do the parts SUCK? - tell me what you think!

Looks great - except you're going to need more than that solitary V-raptor.

I suggest you use that as the boot drive and get a Spinpoint TB for everything else.

By the way, shop around a bit.

Compare that with yours (no memory or weird mousemat) (http://www.novatech.co.uk - my current favourite UK suppliers)

Also also - that's a rather cheap (but good) monitor - consider stepping up to a 24" (hint: Dell)

[edit]Wrong mobo in my screenshot - I know I clicked the right one :/

your build is good, allot of cash, but if you really want all that firepower, then go for it. LIke Snoggsy says thought, 150 GB is pretty puny if that's your only HD....

waisting a GTX 280 on a 22" monitor is just stupid. You're blowing away a lot of cash on something that only realy outshines the lower cards at high resolutions. If you're going for anything less than 24" (1920x1200 resolution) you don't need a GTX280. Even a GTX260 would be a waste in that case. Rahja said it best : it's like buying a Lamborghini to solely drive in a town at 55mph.

the motherboard looks good. ASUS rampage is a very nice board for the ethousiast crowd.

Same goes for the RAM : G.skill is a good brand.

Screen : see my comment about the GFXcard. Either change the card, or the screen.

Coolermaster : well, can't argue about cases tbh, as long as you see yourself working with it and it has enough cooling, it'll do fine.

HDD : get an extra spinpoint TB, they're amazing HDDs, perfect for extra storage.

all the rest looks ok. Personally i wouldn't buy an i7 just yet, but that's your call.
