Default Dual Screen Set-Up.

At first dual screens were a novelty for me, but now I could just not live without them.

The main problem with my set-up currently is however, that I am using two different types of screens, one of them is one that shipped with my PC, and another I bought after, these screens aren't the same hight and thus one of them it standing upon a piece of wood.

Currently I have been thinking of new monitors, but upon searching the internet, finding sites which inform you of how thick the plastic at the sides of the screens are and which are best for dual set-ups is virtually impossible.

The other dilemma I have is that I am unsure if I should go wide screen, 22" or stick with 19".

I am looking to spend about £150-200 (roughly $350) per monitor, and I am a gamer, so fast refresh rates and high contrast ratios would be nice.

I live in the UK so links to Newegg aren't that useful, just a product name will do.

I greatly appreciate your help and suggestions.

I run 2 Samsung 206BW monitors. The game of course can go across both screens but it is nice to have other things up and running. They do not make this model any longer which does not help you but look at their line of monitors. I think the 2053BW replaced the 206BW but not 100% sure about. I have been very happy with mine.

get widescreen no matter what you do

Personally I find that a pair of 22" screens side by side is too wide for me, but I'm the type of guy that likes to rub his nose on the screen when the action gets hotter too. lol Seriously I would say a pair of 19" or 20" lcds would be about right, if you sit at a decent distance away. If you want to sit across the room on your couch, get a tv and run your computer through a nice 40" plasma

my bro-in-law has 2 19" Dells set up for his photo editing side job and they work quite well, I don't recall the model, but they have very little plastic on the sides.

Also, the manufacturer's websites should give you more detailed dimensions etc than a retailer generally will.

What GPU are you using? If it is a powerful single card solution (or an 8800 or better SLi solution from nVidia), you can pair two very large high resolution monitors together. If it is on the weaker side, you should avoid high resolution monitors.

Running a Samsung 2053BW as a secondary monitor here and would recommend it without doubt. My other is an NEC20WGX is about 2" higher so im going to get another 2053BW so that everyting is nice and level

Should pick them up for £130ish including vat/delivery

uk linkage
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/143040 £120
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=MO-094-SA £123

The OC shop forums have a very good Monitor section if you decide to spash a little bit more and go for a larger screensize and want some help making a decision.
