If you don't know anything about computers why are you buying a quad core and SLI cards? Why are you overclocking a quad core too. ;x

tbh your alienware is more than sufficient, even for crysis. Why you'd want to run it on high with no lag good fps astounds me. It's a bad game, looks pretty, bad game. It was also a benchmark a few years ago, not now. ;\

The second one has more RAM, a more powerful CPU, and 2 GTX285's should outporm 1 GTX295. For gaming, these are the things that matter most.

However, they both should be able to handle Crysis very well, (depending upon your monitor rez), so it comes down more to a matter of price.

I only said crysis as a example, as its the only game i know of that required very high specs to run, also the second computer was built by someone who worked for the company

alright thank you very much the alienware is about $900 more so i think i might just go with the second one... also my screen rez is 1680x1050 if that makes a difference at all.

those are both overkill at that resolution - for Crysis or any other video game.... in any case the second one has better specs and is $900 cheaper??!?!!!!?? easy choice dude.

*out of curiosity = how much is the second one?

yes that is kinda overkill for 1680X1050, and like elder said 900 cheaper, all those fancy cases and stuff is whats that 900 goes to so definitely not worth the first.

crysis is NOT a good benchmark, because it scales very poorly with better hardware.

games that actually DOES scale, such as farcry 2 and shadow of chernobyl: clear skies are much better.
