What is the point of using 4 GTX580 when 1 is allready overkill for all games? *Since your gaming on 1920x1080

My classmate plays on 3 27" Dell Ultrasharp 2560x1440 screens (=7680x1440)

Let me remind you that you will be bleeding money everyday with 2.4KW

I'll ask you the same question of why does he play on 3 screens when 1 works just as well. Because he and I can. I spend my money on my computer, as does your classmate. Others spend them on cars like ferrari, but why buy a ferrari when a ford does the job just as well? Because you can.

Get an ssd for a bootdrive and a 1 terra disk for storage, having that much ram is useless because the harddrive is your bottleneck.

A single PSU like the Antec HCP-1200 can power four GTX 580's with no problem.... using two 1.2kw's is just going to give you potential problems (with the performance of both PSU's) which can easily be avoided.

The HCP does 1700WDC.

Not necessarily. PSU's only use what is required from the system so he would probably be at about ~800-1000w under general gaming conditions.

A Ferrari gives a better driving experience than a Ford. Your computer will not give you a better GW2 experience than a machine that costs 15% as much as you paid.

You have no clue what I paid for my computer, and whatever you wanna guess is fine by me as I know the number. And secondly playing on a computer that gets 10 fps as opposed to a computer getting 60 fps is not a great gaming experience.

As for the ferrari vs ford driving experience that is all a matter of opinion. Some like speed, some like comfort, some like style, and others like the name. All depends on what kind of person you are.

Lastly why does what GPU's and how many of them matter to you or anyone else. I'm not here pointing out that some people are playing on gtx 260s or 9800s or whatever else anyone has. How about everyone stays on topic?
