ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 review here...

http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/01/...e_fury_maxx_2/

...basically crossfire in 1 slot. Definitely worth while if you can live with the occasional frame rate drops described in the above review.

With the intel Wolfdale cores and Nvidia 9000 GPU's on way, I'd hold off on buying a full system now.

I've been building high end gaming rigs since the mid-1990's, but gaming laptops are pretty difficult to ignore these days.

^^I think we are stepping a bit out of the bounds of what the OP is looking for really. I mean he used a 5700LE for quite some time and it worked for him.

I am glad they got it all on one PCB vs the 7950GX2 from the past (very clunky card), it looks like the 8900 series will be dual PCB from pictures I have seen on the web.

EDIT: To OP if he's even still reading this here a good program to figure what you have:

It's already official that Guild Wars 2 will support DX10. However, as I already stated some time ago, it will probably just be another "patched" DX10 like Bioshock/Call of Juarez and the likes and not DX10 from scratch.

The problem with DX10 is that it's vastly different from DX9 (actually the most crucial evolution in DX history), it even requires a new driver model, which is way patching XP would mean rebuilding its whole driver model also. Now do that with such an old OS and tell me it's worth the multi-millions. It's not comparable as the step from DX8 to DX9, not even near it by miles.

We need a greater base of DX10 cards, and then we need DX10-only titles. That'll take some years including DX11 of course.

I have a 7600GT from point of view, only £40 and can run most of the latest games on medium no problem. Runs guild wars on Medium/High settings at a constant 60fps. Its awsome for overclocking as well if your the type of person to mess around with things
