Serious error, need help!
So after a break of a couple of hours, i tried to log back onto GW. as soon as i tried to start the game the serious error screen pops up and gives me this:

Looks like something went funky when your system tried to read the GW.DAT file. Try restarting your computer and playing again. I'm pretty sure that this won't show up again.

Try running guild wars with the -repair flag.
If this does not work try testing your RAM. Google memtest86. |

I am also haveing the same issue.
My ram (doesnt mean its not bad) is only 2 mths old. I have 2mhz processor windows xp home, 1gb ram 80 gb HD with 40 free. Ati 9600 256 mb video.
Been using all the same equip except ram for last year playing GW just fine. Tried to log in gave me that error and then put a crash.dmp file on my desktop also. I also get directx9.cpp where he got ExeHeapCliRelease.cpp. I uninstalled GW Reinstalled my video drivers restarted computer reinstalled GW and got same error. So not sure where to go from here. im getting the same problem , everytime i try playing gw even for 10 minutes my computer restarts. Sometimes i get the blue screen but i did get that crash message be4. Ive got the crash.dmp file in my Guildwars folder and got the same thing on my areanet text file :

Once again, it's because you are running on multiple cores. The developers refuse to admit there's a huge problem with GW and multiple cores.
http://www.kalme.de/index.php?option...44&Itemi d=35 Check out that link, follow the steps for GW and you should be running fine. I'm running on a quad core and my GW would crash all the time as well. Now that I'm running it with ForceCore, it rarely crashes anymore. |

Have you guys tried deleting your .Dat files or completely reinstalling the whole game?
Sometimes the .Dat file is corrupted (Notice how it says ''Could Not Read Texture, in krazywrx's post'') that might be relevant, but I'm not sure, I just know that corrupted .Dat files can lead to tons of problems, try it and see if it works. (For anyone who hasn't tried) If you have tried running the game on only one core and re-installing it, then I have no idea. It must be some other serious type of conflict. |
