Thats really, really bad. Since you got it just a few weeks ago I assume its not the video card, since anything in the last 4 years can run guild wars better. I have ran it on a radeon 9600 myself, and it does fine at mid settings.

I bet its a Vista problem, Vista always likes to act up and slow down your computer.

I have no idea what those computer ratings are, is it some kind of numbers from the manufacturer?

I don't know how it works in vista, but in XP right click on the desktop, go to properties, then go to the settings tab
you will see something along the lines of "X monitor on NVidia Geforce (number)"

Unless you have a geforce 5x series or something, you shouldn't be getting such poor fps. And if you do have a geforce 5x series, take it back asap, you got royally screwed

Mine's an Nvidia Go 6150 and I get about what he gets, so it's probably that.

Integrated graphics = fail.

You neglected to mention one of the most important factors affecting the framerate: your video hardware. I could probably have googled the specs had you included the laptop's model number in your post.

Anyways, those framerates look pretty awful, so I'd guess it's a cheap integrated chip like an Intel X3000 or a Radeon X1050. Not much you can do about that besides buying a better computer. Laptop video hardware is practically impossible to replace most of the time.

You _could_ try messing with the video driver's own detail settings, but I doubt you'd see more than a few percent increase; it would still be pretty much unplayable, and that would come at the cost of making everything even blurrier than it normally looks on the lowest settings.

Even integrated graphics should give more FPS.

Yeah they should, but that's what I get. Even with 2 gb of ram and XP.

Kinda sucks. Although one of my buddies has a program that changes how your NIC handles packets. He said he when from about a 250-300 ping on WoW to about 80 ping.

So I'll give that a shot sometime this week and get back to everyone.

Default Vista = Junk

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...=45273&lang=en

Those are his specs, and the only problem I see is Vista. If you know enough about windows, Vista specifically, start killing those useless/worthless processes and/or find a way to boot into a minimalistic session and try playing then.

If I can play satisfactory (14-18 fps) on a Toshiba Satellite M35X-S111, that is nearly 6 years old, you should be able to do just as well if not loads better.

A few days ago i got a new graphic driver from nvidia

I checked around, a NVIDIA MCP67M is a Geforce Go 7150M. Definitely not top of the line but nowhere near old enough to prevent you from playing. You should use the drivers that came with your laptop, AFAIK Nvidia doesn't directly support laptop drivers, they have to be supplied by the manufacturer.

You can download drivers for your laptop here: http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?

Just go to Nvidia's site, look at which are the latest drivers for your card find them on the site I gave you and follow the instructions. I use it for mine and it works just fine.

This depends on the laptop, but in my experience HP usually messes with the hardware ID's so Nvidia's (or any other hardware company's) drivers won't recognize the hardware, forcing users to get the drivers through HP. The Omega drivers may recognize some laptop hardware Nvidia's official ones don't.

Seconded. The preinstalled Vista my HP laptop came with had so much useless junk it took over three minutes to boot and by then had eaten up enough RAM it ran _Firefox_ slower than my previous laptop with far worse specs. The computer felt like it was running twice as fast after I repartitioned the drive to get rid of the HP reinstall crap and manually installed XP on it.

If you are semi-computer literate and have a windows XP disk, go install that. I bet on XP you would be able to run the game maxed or near-max.

I really bet its some kind of problem with vista eating up your low amount of available graphics memory. Your card has 64 meg, so if vista is taking up alot in the background to display its nice shiny menus then your game has nothing left.

EDIT: The minimum system requirements for "Vista Premium" is 128 meg of video ram. The main reason being that it runs Aero, try to see if you can disable Aero. I can't help you on how to do that, I upgraded from vista to XP a long time ago. 64 megs of video ram technically "Supports Aero but is not Premium Ready".

Dual boot with XP if you dont want to uninstall Vista.

My laptop that i got for Christmas had integrated graphics, and i was getting 20-15 FPS. Added XP to the computer and it easily achieves 30-25 FPS, which is a drastic change.

Conclusion:
Anyone with borderline FPS (24 is the border) who also runs Vista should
(a) Spec more System Ram to VRam
(b) Put XP on their computer
(c) Both

If you're not getting better FPS, its a driver or hardware problem, but i guarantee you that it runs better on XP.

Personally I'd say install windows xp operating system to free ram OR install more ram modules to counter the heavy system resources by vista. Also upgrading to the latest drivers help, defragment your harddrive and run Guild Wars with the -image command to download all possible data files. Keeping your computer clean is also important, I suggest CCleaner here's link: http://www.ccleaner.com/

Hope that helps.
